MuslimConnect will review all groups upon creation.
Do create groups that:
– focus on building a local community and meaningful member-to-member connections in real life based on shared interests, goals, activities etc.
– are targeted towards those who are 18 and over. If events are open to families, any children under 18 must be supervised and accompanied by an adult guardian.
– promote classes or workshops by your organisation, as long as costs and requirements are clearly mentioned.
Don’t create groups that:
– are solely intended for selling, soliciting or promoting a business, service, brand, product, venue or one-on-one activities; unless it clearly facilitates connections between members to build the community.
– violates the main tenets of Islam or promotes prohibited or disliked acts that could lead/influence others down the wrong path away from Allah. This may include groups that encourages polytheism, atheism, adultery i.e. excessive mingling between opposite genders; consuming alcohol or pork, gambling, magic or witchcraft etc.
MuslimConnect respects groups that are created as a supportive community for those who may be struggling with different aspects of their life, provided it is non-judgmental, a safe space and beneficial. This may include those who are struggling with their religion, drugs, alcoholism, pornography, homosexuality etc. The group admin must set the group to Private, clearly and accurately describe the purpose and what members can expect from the group and events.
