As a group admin, you are responsible for paying for the group subscription, moderating your group, events, members and content and ensuring that they comply with all applicable laws, the Community Guidelines and Terms of Service. Assign moderators if you need help to manage the group and plan events. Utilize the Ban, Block or Report functions for blatant offenders.
Be respectful towards group members. They are your pocket of community and supporters, so be upfront and active. MuslimConnect thrives on participation, and members need to be accurately informed on the groups and events they are joining.
– Don’t be misleading, fraudulent or deceptive when describing groups, interests, events, or links in your posts.
– Clearly and accurately describe the purpose of the group and what members can expect from the group and events. Do not overpromise. Set reasonable expectations. Disclose any affiliations.
– Don’t impersonate or falsely represent a brand, entity or public figure. If a group or event is being used to express interest or support, disclose in the name or description that it is not an official representation.
– Don’t deliberately tamper with the group’s or event’s original intention or purpose, that which attracted members to join in the first place. This especially applies to members who are stepping up as the new group admin.
– Communicate clearly to members of any changes that would affect their expectation of the group so they can make an informed decision to remain or leave the group.
– Don’t waste members’ time, money and attention. Clearly communicate event details and prices in case of cancellations, change of locations, additional costs etc.
– If you collect information or content directly from members, you must seek consent first and make it clear that you (and not MuslimConnect) are collecting it and the reason why. You are responsible for securing all necessary permissions to reuse their data.
– If you need to step away from the role of group admin, don’t just delete your account without notifying anyone.
