Editing my group’s privacy

Privacy settings determine what content on your group page is visible to non-members.

Public groups. Non-members can see most of the content of the group page, including members list, media, events and activity feed.

Private groups. Non-members can see group description, location, interests, along with the name of the organisers. But they won’t be able to see the activity feed, events and members list and any media.

In both settings, upcoming events will show location details if that event is set to public. Both private and public groups will also appear in search results and be suggested to members.

To edit your group’s privacy:

1. From your group’s homepage, click Manage Group from the left menu
2. Scroll down to Privacy settings
3. Select Public or Private
4. Save changes

Note: Setting a group to Private is permanent, it cannot be changed to Public. All members of your group will receive a notification when you change the privacy.
