Differences with an organiser

In some cases, you may feel that a group’s organisers have been inactive for too long or not doing their best to organise the kind of group you want to be a part of, there’s a few options for you.

– Talk to the organisers first and discuss your thoughts and suggest ideas for improvement in a respectful manner.
– Ask the group admin to make you a moderator. This way, you can organise an event on your own and encourage other members to take part.

At the end of the day, the organisers control how the group is run. Some may accept your suggestions while others may choose to stick to their ways. That’s perfectly okay, people will have a difference of opinions. It just means that they might have a different approach and style than you do.

If you’re still unhappy and your differences is preventing you from benefiting from the group and maximising your time, you can wish them the best and search for another more compatible group. Otherwise, you can always create your own group. That way you will have control over how you think is best to run and organise it.

Organiser no-show

If you go to an event and the organiser doesn’t show up, please contact them first to find out if something may have happened. If they have not provided the attendees with a contact number, use the messaging system on MuslimConnect or the discussion board on the Event page. If it is an event that can continue even without the organiser’s presence, then feel free to go ahead with it.
