When signing up with MuslimConnect, each registered user has agreed to our Terms of Service. This is an agreement between the user and MuslimConnect and not between organiser and group member, and does not apply to attendees of events who are not MuslimConnect users.
Although Section 6 of our Terms of Service does outline the agreement to release organisers of any liability related to a group or event, this release is general in nature and does not address any specific situation, which will take other factors into consideration including the laws regarding liability in a specific country, the status of the organiser as an individual or part of a legal entity, the false representation of an organiser’s expertise and experience etc.
Some groups or events might carry inherent risk with their activities, and the organiser should consider drafting a release or waiver (online or physical) that specifically addresses those activities and have attendees (MuslimConnect users or otherwise) sign it so that there is an agreement directly with participants.
