Removing or banning a member

There may be circumstances where a member warrants a removal or ban from the group. The group admin and moderators are able to remove or ban members, and the member will be notified that they have been removed from the group. Removing a member will still allow them to request membership again if they wish to rejoin.

Banning a member will remove them from the group and prevent them from finding the group in search or see any of its content. Organisers have the power to un-ban the member if they change their minds. Once banned, the member will be added to Banned list in the group’s Members page, which is only visible to the organisers.

To remove a member:

1. Go to your group homepage and click Members from the left menu
2. Select the relevant member and click the options gear next to their name
3. Click Remove from group from the drop-down menu

To ban/un-ban a member:

1. Go to your group homepage and click Members from the left menu
2. Select the relevant member and click the options gear next to their name
3. Click Ban member or Remove Ban from the drop-down menu

If your group is set to private, you can also ban a member during the membership request process. Instead of declining the request, select Decline & Ban to prevent future requests.
