When creating your group, there will be privacy options that will help control membership into your group.
– Public. Anyone can join your group without your approval.
– Private. Users must request membership to your group, which the admin can approve or reject. We will notify you about any new membership requests, and it will show as a menu item on your group’s homepage.
– Gender privacy. Once chosen, this option cannot be changed. Male only groups will be indicated underneath the group name as Brothers Group, while female only groups will show Sisters Group. MuslimConnect does not collect gender information from users and will not automatically prevent users from joining a group that’s exclusive to the opposite gender. Group admins will have the power to reject member requests in a private group or remove member in a public group.
– Questions for users requesting membership. This is entirely optional. Admin can screen users and control who joins their group by setting criteria, expectations or asking questions to find out more about potential members before deciding on their request i.e. ‘Why would you like to join our group?’; user must have a profile photo; ‘Where did you learn this skill?’ etc.
