Before creating a new group, please review our Community Guidelines and Standards for Groups. Our purpose is to bring people with similar passions and interests together, Muslim or otherwise, to connect in a real world setting. These pockets of communities will need to be managed online and flourished offline by organisers who want to realize that same purpose and build strong relationships.
To create a group:
1. Click Create a Group in the top navigation bar
2. Fill in the details of your group
3. Wait for approval by our team, usually within 24 hours
4. Select a group subscription plan and follow the payment steps
Tips and notes:
– Create a group name that is relevant and easy to understand i.e. combine your location and descriptive words that clearly identify what your group is about. It must not include profanity, excessive or incorrect use of grammar, punctuation, symbols, capitalization, spacing, or repetition. This may adversely cause users to think that the group is not taking itself seriously, and not join.
– Make your group description clear on who and why potential members should join and what they can expect. You will be able to edit the name and description later, so don’t worry if it’s not fully thought out in the beginning.
– Set Rules if you are particular on how members should conduct themselves.
– Create screening questions or criteria in Before you join… to inform potential members of your expectations of them.
– Setting group privacy to Private, and setting Gender privacy is permanent and cannot be changed later.
Once your subscription payment is completed, you’ll receive an email receipt and a notification that your group is live. It will be announced to any MuslimConnect user who share the same interests as your group and are within 30km of the group location.
