MuslimConnect is committed to providing quality services to you and this policy outlines our ongoing obligations to you regarding the collection, use and disclosure of Personal Information we receive from users of the Service. By using MuslimConnect, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. This Privacy Policy is incorporated by reference into the existing Terms. This policy does not apply to the information that you may provide to third parties, such as members, and others with whom you may share information about yourself.


1. Information We Collect

1.1. While registering as a user of our Service, we will ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you including your name, email address and password (“Personal Information”). We also collect information that you choose to provide directly to us, including but not limited to username, location, payment method data, photos, interests and groups. Your choice of groups is optional, but we are required to process this information in order to administer your account, and to indicate that you are a member of the groups that you join.

1.2. You will also have the option to create your account using a different credential like your Facebook or Google account. If you choose to do so, we will ask permission to access basic information from those accounts. The information we get from those services often depends on your settings or their privacy policies. We may also have access to third-party account information if you use the Service feature to share a link. Alternatively, you can stop sharing that information with us at any time by removing our access to that account.

1.3. The information about your choice of interests or groups that you choose to provide may imply information about your beliefs, political views, health conditions, sexual identity etc. We will take measures against users who transgress our Community Guidelines and exploit sensitive and personal information against other users.

1.4. We may also collect or receive information about you from third party sources, such as organisers, another member, social media, or other third parties. But only where these third parties either have your consent or are otherwise legally permitted or required to disclose your information to us.

1.5. When you use MuslimConnect, we use cookies and other tracking technologies that automatically collect information that your device and/or browser sends whenever you visit the Service (“Log Data”). This Log Data may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol address and geolocation, device and/or browser type and settings, the pages of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages and other statistics and cookie data. In addition, we may use third party services such as Google Analytics that collect, monitor and analyze this type of information in order to increase our Service’s functionality. These third party service providers have their own privacy policies addressing how they use such information.

Cookies are small data files that and are sent to your browser from a web site and stored on your device’s hard drive to collect information. For example, we may use cookies to save your email address and login password for future logins, to assist users navigate from page to page, to better understand how you interact with the Service and to monitor aggregate usage and web traffic routing on the Service.

Most browsers will allow you to erase cookies from your hard drive, block acceptance of cookies, or receive a warning before a cookie is stored. You may also be able to refuse certain web beacons by adjusting the settings on your browser or device. Please refer to your browser help menu or device or operating system instructions to learn more about these functions. 2. Information We Use

2.1. Access and Use. We will use the information you provide for your access to, or use of the Service and features; to personalize the Service for you through your choice of interests.

2.2. Internal Business Purposes. We may use your Personal Information for internal business purposes, including without limitation, to provide, maintain and improve the functionality and performance of the Service, to monitor and analyze user trends, usage, and activities to better understand our users and improve the user experience, to develop new products and features, to protect against, identify or address wrongdoing and illegal activities, to enforce our Terms, to comply or manage any legal claims or requests, to resolve disputes, to manage your account and provide you with customer service, and to generally manage the administrative functions of the Service.

2.3. Communication. We may use your Personal Information to send you service, support and administrative messages, reminders, technical notices, updates, security alerts, and information requested by you; to respond or resolve issues brought to us via your email address.

2.4. Other Purposes. If we intend to use any Personal Information in any manner that is not consistent with this Privacy Policy, you will be informed of such anticipated use prior to or at the time the Personal Information is collected or we will obtain your consent subsequent to such collection but prior to such use.


3. Information Sharing and Disclosure

3.1. Our Service. We share some of the information that we collect by displaying it on our Service according to your member profile and account settings. Some information, such as username, is always public. Information such as profile picture, bio, location and networks are always public but you are not required to complete those fields. Interests and groups joined or created, are public by default, but can be hidden. Your calendar will always be hidden. Some information, such as group memberships, will always be visible to other members of that group, and may be public, depending on the settings of that group. We recommend that you check the group settings and what information will be available before joining the group to ensure that you are happy with the information that is visible to others.

3.2. Compliance with Laws. We have reason to believe that doing so is necessary to identify, contact or bring legal action against anyone damaging, injuring or interfering (intentionally or unintentionally) with our rights or property, users or anyone else who could be harmed by such activities. We will disclose your Personal Information, including the content of messages, where required to do so by law or subpoena; or if we believe that such action is necessary to comply with the law and the reasonable requests of law enforcement or to protect the security or integrity of our Service.

3.3. Service Providers. We may employ trusted third party companies and individuals to facilitate and improve our Service, (including but not limited to data storage, maintenance services, payment gateway, database management and web analytics). These third parties have access to your Personal Information only to perform these tasks on our behalf and do not have any right to use it beyond what is necessary to assist us.

3.4. Business Transfers. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, but we will notify you (for example, via email and/or a prominent notice on our website) of any change in control or use of your Personal Information or Data, or if either become subject to a different Privacy Policy. We will also notify you of choices you may have regarding the information.

3.5. International Transfer. Your information will be transferred to, processed and maintained in Australia and countries other than your country of residence, where the data protection laws may differ than those from your jurisdiction. We have taken appropriate safeguards to require that your information will remain protected in accordance with this Privacy Policy. Your consent to this Privacy Policy followed by your submission of such information represents your agreement to that transfer.


4. Other Details

4.1. Data Retention. We will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. We may retain and use your information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your information, we will take reasonable steps to delete or permanently de-identify your Personal Information. Please note, however, that there might be latency in deleting information from our servers and backed-up versions might exist after deletion.

4.2. Security. The security of your information is important to us and we employ physical, technical and organisational measures to protect your Personal Information against unauthorized access collection, use, disclosure, modification and against other misuse. We store all information that you provide to us on secure servers. We use Security Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption technology to encrypt any sensitive personal information before it travels over the internet. However, no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

4.3. Third Party Websites. Our Service may contain links to other websites on the Internet, and other websites may contain links to our Service. These other websites are not under our control, and such links do not constitute an endorsement by MuslimConnect of those other websites or the services offered through them. The privacy and security practices of websites linked to or from the Service are not covered by this Privacy Policy, and we are not responsible for the privacy or security practices or the content of any third party websites.

4.4. Age restrictions. Our Service is not directed to persons under 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that his or her child has provided us with Personal Information without their consent, he or she should contact us. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided us with Personal Information without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers or replace it with the Personal Information of the Children’s parent or guardian.

4.5. Policy Updates. We reserve the right to modify the Privacy Policy at any time. We will provide notice to you by publishing the most current version and revising the date at the top of this page. If we make any material changes to this policy, we will notify you either through the email address you have provided us, or by placing a prominent notice on our website. By continuing to use the Service after we post any changes to the Privacy Policy on this page will constitute your acknowledgment of the changes and your consent to abide and be bound by the updated Privacy Policy.


5. Your Data Rights

If you wish to exercise your data protection rights in accordance with applicable data protection laws, you can do so at any time by contacting us at support@muslimconnect.io. Please identify the precise type/s of information requested and we will endeavour to respond to all requests.
You have the right to, depending on your country of residence:

5.1. Access, correct, update, or request deletion of your Personal Information.

5.2. Object to processing of your Personal Information, ask us to restrict processing of your information, or request the portability of your information.

5.3. Unsubscribe from receiving marketing communications that we send you at any time.

5.4. At any time, withdraw your consent that you have given when we collected and processed your Personal Information. This will not affect the lawfulness of any processing that we conducted prior to your withdrawal, nor will it affect processing of your information conducted in reliance on lawful processing grounds other than consent.

5.5. Complain to a local data protection authority about our collection and use of your Personal Information.
